Iowa: Keokuk
Emily's Dad, Steve Mast, began working at McDonald’s as his first job at 16 years old starting as a crew member and it became the only job he would ever have. Over the span of twenty-three years, Steve worked through the ranks holding every position at McDonald's and purchased the McDonald’s of Keokuk, Iowa in 1998. He and his wife Dena Mast were settled down in Hamilton, Illinois with two children, Emily, and Andrea.
Emily took great interest in working for McDonald’s where, at just 16 years old, she would work her summers as a part time crew person following in the footsteps of her dad. Emily attended Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to earn her bachelor’s degree in business administration and in 2015 she decided it was time to work full time for the family business. Emily went through the rigorous "Next Generation program" and completed it in 2022. Afterwards, she was officially granted approval to become a second-generation Owner/Operator at McDonald's and became the owner of McDonald's of Keokuk in 2024. Allowing Steve and Dena to enter into retirement and watch Emily's son, Emerson as full-time grandparents!
Emily enjoys supporting United Way and RMHC. Keokuk McDonald's is one of the biggest fundraising advocates for RMHC's Round Up!
