Ryan's Dad, Dan Blumenstock, started working at McDonald's in Springfield, Missouri in 1975. Dan saw endless opportunities working at McDonald’s and his potential was obvious to former Owner/Operator, Tom Tucker. After just a few short years of being employed with McDonald’s in Springfield, Dan was given the opportunity to move to Branson, Missouri in the early 1980’s to help open the first ever store in the now booming tourist destination area.
Hard work and determination paid off for Blumenstock showcasing the ability to build a McDonald’s restaurant from ground up, successfully. In 1987, he was given the opportunity he had been waiting for – to open his own McDonald's restaurant in Republic, Missouri. The Blumenstock family moved to Republic, and it became a place they would call home and still do to this day. Through this process, Dan Blumenstock grew his family with two children by 1987, one being his son Ryan who would later follow in his father’s footsteps to be involved in the burger business.
While Ryan has many memories helping his dad in his restaurants, he started working making an official paycheck when he was 14 years old at the Republic McDonald’s location. In 2001, Ryan graduated high school from Republic and attended Drury University where he earned his degree in Business and Accounting. Ryan ventured out to gain experience outside of the McDonald’s business for a few years, but as retirement was a near 10 or so years away for his dad, he proposed Ryan to join forces with him in the family business. The right to ownership does not come easy for a child of a McDonald’s Owner/Operator, so in 2009 Ryan started as a crew member at the West Chestnut McDonald’s location in Springfield. Over the next four years, he continued to work his way through the prestigious “Next Generation” program McDonald’s requires children of Owner/Operators to complete in order to obtain a stake in the family business. In 2013, Ryan was given the opportunity to take over ownership of the very first store his dad ever built in Republic, Missouri. An incredible accomplishment for both father, Dan and son, Ryan Blumenstock to celebrate, together.
Dan retired from the family-owned business in 2021, selling his last restaurant his son, Ryan Blumenstock. Today, Ryan owns and operates six McDonald's locations throughout southwest Missouri. His sixth restaurant was recently just built and opened in the Fall of 2023 at West Sunshine and ByPass in Springfield, Missouri. Ryan serves the McDonald's Operators and system on the NSLC Leadership Team. Ryan chairs the Supply Chain Digitization Sub-Team wand is a proud member of the National Supply Chain Leadership Council. A hunter at heart, in his free time you'll find Ryan in the woods or alongside wife Rikki enjoy a lot of family time at the lake.
