Ryan Ruprecht is a third-generation McDonald's Owner/Operator taking over the family business his grandparents, William (Bill) and Ilene Ruprecht started in 1966. Ryan followed the path of his father, David (Butch) Ruprecht to get where he is today in the burger business.
It was 1957 when Bill Ruprecht, worked as an auditor for the Farm Bureau in Jefferson City, MO and decided to open his own accounting business with his wife as his partner. Bill took on many clients as he began his new venture but one that would change his life, forever—McDonald’s.
Bill and Ilene Ruprecht worked on the finances for the McDonald’s restaurant on Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City, MO for many years through their accounting business. This McDonald’s location opened its doors in 1959 and by 1966, the store was simply not doing well. There were five partners in the business and two of them were ready to sell their portion and move along. So, Bill did what any young husband with an entrepreneurial spirit does, and hurried home to sweet talk his wife, Ilene, into taking out a second mortgage in order to purchase stake in the burger business. She said YES and little did they both know then that this decision would provide opportunity and growth for their sons and grandsons that today extends from Jefferson City to Branson, Springfield to Columbia and many great Missouri towns in between.
Ryan started working his first job at the South Ten Mile restaurant in Jefferson City while attending Helias Catholic High School . After graduating, he went to Mizzou and earned a master’s in accounting. After some time working in accounting and starting a family, Ryan rejoined forces with his dad Butch and in 2017 he was the fifth Ruprecht family member to become approved as a McDonald’s Owner/Operator.
Today, Ryan owns and operates ten McDonald's restaurants across the Big Mo Bu. He also is the President of the Big Mo BU.
